The Tucson has a Theta III Smartstream 2.5-litre GDI+MPI DOHC 16-valve four-cylinder engine as standard. It provides 187 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque with a combined fuel economy of 9.1 L/100km. Higher-end models have a Gamma II Smartstream 1.6L Turbo-GDI 16-valve 4-cylinder engine with a hybrid system. The combined output is 226 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque.
